An interactive installation featuring a set of experimental letterforms inspired by traditional Kolam—a decorative and ephemeral folk art widely practiced in India and Southeast Asia. Typically drawn with wet or dry rice flour by women at the entrances of homes, Kolams are believed to invite positive energy and welcome good spirits.
Drawn anew each morning, these intricate patterns are intentionally ehemeral—gradually erased by daily life, whether by footsteps, ants, or squirrels, only to reappear again with the start of a new day.
Commissioned by Tiipoi, this installation was created to celebrate the opening of White City Place—a new creative campus in London.
